HotelTonight – Vanderbilt Nashville Hotels Just for You

Nashville, Tennessee is home to many things, including some of the finest musicians and music in the world. It is host to millions of visitors per year and is home to millions of people within driving distance of the city's center. Sometimes it's difficult to remember that it is also home to one of the most respected and renowned universities in the entire world. I have met many people who attended Vanderbilt University, and all of them have been impressive. I've also heard from almost all of them how I simply must go and see not only the beautiful campus, but also the surrounding neighborhood in order to experience its charm. Since I travel to Nashville with relative regularity, I decided to take them up on this offer on my most recent trip. I scheduled my return flight from Nashville for 24 hours after my work obligations were complete. I would spend that time in this part of town exploring. I wasn't concerned about finding a place to stay, either, as I travel with HotelTonight. My favorite app would find me a Vanderbilt Nashville hotel room as soon as I was ready to end the day.

The Campus

Where else would I possibly have started on my exploration of the Vanderbilt neighborhood than on the campus itself? I had always wanted to see it and I got right to it when I got to the area. It was everything I had hoped it would be. It was big, it was bucolic in a big city and it was a classic, traditional campus with thousands of gigantic intellects running around preparing themselves for the world. I stopped and had some coffee on campus and chatted with some students, which was wonderful. I bought some memorabilia and was immediately thankful for my experience there.

The Art

One thing I really didn't expect to encounter while in this part of Nashville was a thriving art scene. There was a gallery on campus that drew me in as I walked by, and it was something I am very glad to have seen. Not only was admission free, but there were some of the most impressive pieces of art there that I had ever seen. There were paintings from seemingly all disciplines, and the students who worked there were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful as you walked around and appreciated the talent on display.

The Food

You can't really experience a campus-driven neighborhood without having at least one meal there. I did that and I did so based on the recommendation of a nice young lady I spoke to earlier that day. I went with a steak at a steakhouse that has been famous near campus for years. The steak was absolutely tremendous. It was big, juicy and cooked to perfection. The mushrooms they topped it with were perfect, as were the garlicky mashed potatoes that came on the side.
